“First, I want thank God for this opportunity and for the preparation for it. All the roles that I have had the privilege of having throughout my baseball career have prepared me holistically for this opportunity. I want to thank Dr. Rochelle Ford, President of Dillard University, and Athletic Director Dr. Linda Bell for lifting the interim tag and entrusting me with the opportunity to continue to lead and serve the Dillard baseball program, these young men as well as serve this prestigious university. I also want my wife Tamara, my daughters and family for their continuous support.
I would also like to thank the coaching staff we have assembled in Carl Nichols as Recruiting Coordinator/Hitting Coach, Bob Shelton as Head Assistant Coach/Director of Baseball Operations & Analytics and Malik Blaise as our 1st Base/Infield Coordinator. I thank these gentlemen for joining me and trusting my leadership in this endeavor.
In conclusion, I am grateful for the opportunity to embark on this exciting journey as the head baseball coach at Dillard University. Together, with the support of the university leadership and the dedication of our talented scholar/athletes, I am confident that we will achieve great success both on and off the field. I look forward to continuing to lead and inspire these young men whom have shown tremendous patience during this transition process as well as their resilience and fight during my time as interim head coach. We shall continue to strive for professionalism and excellence in all aspects of our program as we move forth on this journey.”
