Huston-Tillotson Home Opener Kicks Off 2025 HBCU Collegiate Baseball Season January 24

The Huston-Tillotson baseball season kicks off the weekend of January 24-25 with its first homestand to open the 2025 season.

The Rams will host Central Christian College with a four-game series at its home field of Downs Field in Austin, Texas.

The following weekend, February 1-2, the Rams continue their home stand in another four-game series against Bethany College.

The Ram’s first road test will come visiting Arlington Baptist University with a home-and-home series doubleheader tilt scheduled for February 6th in Fort Worth, Texas, and the series four-game series concludes when the Rams return to Downs Field Saturday on February 8th.

As stated, many times before, college baseball is about four seasons – the non-conference schedule, the conference schedule, the conference tournament if entered, and then post-season tournaments, should a team qualify, including the Black College World Series in May at Rockabillys Stadium in Jackson, Tennessee May 7-10, 2025.

Head baseball coach Chase Almendarez has a tough 50-game schedule in the Red River Athletic Conference, non-conference games, several ranked teams like No. 4 LSU Shreveport (La.) and Houston-Victoria (Texas) who is receiving votes in NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll and with matchups against NCAA Division I programs Stephen F. Austin, Prairie View A&M, and Texas Southern.
