HBCUs West Virginia State and Savannah State Receive Votes in NCBWA Division II Regional Baseball Polls

Historically Black College and University baseball programs continue to impress on the baseball diamond and receive recognition from national pollsters from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

In the NCAA Division II classification, West Virginia State earned the No. 8 spot in the Atlantic Region Top 10 Poll, while Savannah State received votes in the South Region Top 10 Poll, the week of February 19, 2024.

Last year, both WVSU and SSU finished ranked in Black College Nines’ “small school” top 10 poll for HBCUs.

We will make more sense of HBCU baseball when the first Black College Nines Top 10 Poll presented by Guardian Baseball is released in March. We will provide the teams ranked, along with a brief weekly synopsis of program past mid-week and weekend action.
