The first annual HBCU Battle of Divisions Baseball Invitational is set for opening weekend on January 31-February 2, 2025, at Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event, which will be played at the home of the MLB Youth Academy, features eight Historically Black College and University baseball programs.
The 2025 season-opening event is a group effort arranged by Dillard University head baseball coach Rod White, Southern University at New Orleans head baseball coach Olan Parker, Dillard University athletic director Dr. Linda Bell, and Southern University at New Orleans athletic director James Matthews, III.
The event adopts the Black College World Series national championship format, with four NAIA and four NCAA Division II teams competing.
