Jackson State swept Alcorn State over the weekend for it’s sixth straight SWAC conference sweep. The Tigers improved to 24-7 overall  and 18-0 in SWAC play.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team won its three-game series 2-1 at home from Texas Southern with a come from behind run to tie the game in the ninth inning, then a walk off in extra innings for the series finale 6-5 win.

Norfolk State completed a four-game MEAC sweep of Coppin State over the weekend taking Friday’s game 5-3; sweeping a doubleheader on Saturday with a game one 6-2 victory, followed by the 3-2 nite cap win; then a 9-3 win on Sunday to extend its winning streak in conference play to six games.

North Carolina Central split a four-game weekend series with Delaware State. The series featured both pitching and power.

Alabama A&M pounded its way to a four-game weekend sweep over Mississippi Valley State, scoring 31 runs in Saturday’s doubleheader, then winning a ninth-inning, four-run come-from-behind 9-8 win Sunday to complete the SWAC conference sweep.
