Grambling State University
Pending – Davin Pierre (interim)
Note: Davin Pierre was given the interim tag when he replaced former coach James Cooper. With a 25-29 overall record in his first season including a 20-10 record in the SWAC and a No. 2 seeding in the upcoming conference championships, sources have stated the athletic department will remove the interim label and offer coach Pierre a three-year deal and retain his baseball staff consisting of assistant coach Adrian Turner and current graduate assistant Phil Adams.
SMALL SCHOOL
Lane College
Out – Head Coach Patrick Barbour
Out – Assistant Coach Christian Armstrong
Out – Assistant Coach Treviz Brown
Note: Patrick Barbour became head coach of Lane College in 2018. Barbour replaced current Rust College head coach John Bates after the 2018 season. Barbour led Lane to a HBCU Baseball national title in the shortened 2020 pandemic season, but was not retained by the athletic department. From what sources have stated, his freshmen recruits complained how he ran his program. It was a tough rebuilding year for Barbour who was building the program with a lot of young players. Contracts of Lane’s two assistant coaches, Christian Armstrong and Treviz Brown have expired and according to sources they will mutually part ways.
LeMoyne-Owen College

Notes: Former coach Patrick Newman resign from the program during 2022 season, sources tell Black College Nines. No word if assistants Kennard Clark or Arvis Clark will remain with the program.

Note: Jarvis Christian is searching for a new head coach. The athletic department has announced the school has released Michael Holochuck of his head coaching duties several weeks ago. Sources confirm with Black College Nines that Holochuck cut freshmen from the program, which was an unwritten rule. The Bulldogs entered the season with high hopes but was scuffling the entire season. Coach Holochuck’s 2022 season was his fifth season as head coach of the Jarvis Christian College Bulldogs. His career record was 135-132 including four straight Red River Athletic Conference tournament appearances. The school has also cut ties with assistant coach Nick Pena.

Randall took over a team in the 2008 season which had only nine players and has built the Panther program into one of the most competitive ones in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). In 2016, the Panthers captured the team’s first-ever SIAC championship and the school’s second automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championships. The Mobile, Ala. native is a graduate of Grambling University, where he played collegiate baseball for the Tigers. As a player, Coach Randall earned Freshman of the Year honors finishing with seven homeruns, and a .313 batting average. In his sophomore year, he was named to the second team All-SWAC.
