Grambling State’s Phillip Bryant Signs Contract to Play in MLB Draft League

Former Grambling State pitcher Phillip Bryant signed an MLB Draft League contract and will suit up for the State College Spikes.

The MLB Draft League is the professional MLB league on behalf of Major League Baseball for players who have exhausted their college eligibility. It is a six-team baseball league with locations in Frederick (MD), Trenton (NJ), Williamsport (PA), State College (PA), Morgantown (WV), and Mahoning Valley (OH). Teams play 50 games starting the first week of July 7th and concluding in September.

Bryant played for Grambling from 2022-2023 and pitched in 21 games for the Tigers, including 10 starts. In 61.1 innings, he struck out 50 batters while having a 5-3 record.
