Grambling State University baseball student-athlete Cameron Buford was named to the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Preseason Baseball team by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Bufford, an All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Second Team selection last season, was second on the team in batting, with a .314 average. He tallied 58 hits, including a team-high 12 home runs, seven doubles and a pair of triples, while slugging .568. In addition, he had 12 multi-hit games, including going 3-for-4, with three runs scored, one homer and one double, while driving in three against Memphis.
Grambling State opens the season on Friday, Feb. 18 at the Andre Dawson Classic against Jackson State. The Tigers will also meet New Orleans and Arkansas-Pine Bluff to wrap up play in the Andre Dawson Classic.
