Fans of HBCU Baseball will witness a matchup featuring Grambling State and Prairie View A&M, as they meet on the baseball diamond in a conference rivalry between Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) members.
The State Fair Diamond Classic is sponsored by the BCSG 360 (Black College Sports Group) and supported by former Major League Baseball player, Torii Hunter, who pledged his support for the event along with the North Texas community and other local sponsors. The game will take place at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas, scheduled for March 26-28, 2021.
The event is in conjunction with a variety of connected educational and entertainment events and opportunities for local businesses to get involved connecting urban youth with higher education and career opportunities, especially with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The event organizers will feature HBCU admissions and scholarship fair, job fair and social networking.
The State Fair Diamond Classic Kickoff will be the first of a three-game SWAC series against the Tigers and the Panthers.
