Former Black College Nines 2024 All-Elite Freshman of the Year, Prairie View A&M’s Michael Smith, now of the University of Dayton was selected on Sunday, May 12th in the 13th round of the 2026 Major League Draft by the San Diego Padres.
The 395th pick overall, Smith has until July 27 at 4 p.m. CT to sign with the Padres or return to Dayton for his senior season.
Michael Smith played his first two years at Prairie View A&M University before transferring to the University of Dayton for the recent 2025-2026 school year.
