The inaugural Florida Memorial University Spring Break HBCU Baseball Classic will be played this weekend, hosted by FMU on the beautiful campus of Florida Memorial in Miami Gardens, FL. Florida Memorial University, Voorhees University, and Paine College will take the field for the five-game tournament.
Miami stays warm and sunny year-round. The weather is expected to be humid with the temperatures in the high 80s. If planning on attending this event, be sure to dress cool watching these games. Friday’s weather will be partly cloudy and 80°, while Saturday should be sunny with a high of 85° and humid.
Daily events are open to the public. Patrons can sit anywhere in the field seating area for all five games on tournament weekend.
Fans can bring food and non-alcoholic beverages. Snacks can be purchased by vending machine in the fieldhouse behind home plate.
Black College Championships partnered with Florida Memorial head coach Tino Burgos in planning the Spring Break HBCU Baseball Classic event which initially was scheduled to be played in the Miami Marlins venue (LoanDepot) Park in 2023. With the World Baseball Classic scheduled on the same dates, the tournament planners are looking to partner with the Marlins in 2024.
