Black College Nines’ first top 10 poll for Historically Black College and University (HBCU) baseball is set to be released this Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Both large school and small school polls will be announced and published.
Ultimately, HBCU baseball champions will be named in two divisions… the “large school” division, which will be composed of the 19 HBCU schools representing NCAA Division I and a “small school” division made up of the 32 HBCU schools within the NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA, as well as independents.
At the end of the college baseball season, our HBCU champions will receive the same recognition as those previously selected by our predecessor, Black College Baseball, which first began its HBCU poll in 2002. Past national champions included Alabama State, Winston Salem State, Bethune-Cookman, West Virginia State, St. Augustine, Stillman, Edward Waters, North Carolina A&T, Southern, Prairie View and Alcorn State.
