Paine College baseball has a very competitive outlook for the 2025 season. Seniors, juniors, and sophomores will be depended upon to make an impact this season. Head Coach Kerby Marshall has put the pieces of the puzzle together in the early stages of fall ball leading up to the coming season.
For players to see some live action in the fall allows Marshall a chance to experiment and to get better. Marshall has brought in some good recruits along with returning players and some stout transfers.
Expectations are high for this year’s Lions team. Coming off a productive fall season, the Lions look to finish the season on a high note. Paine will be led by NCCAA All-Region first-team selection and HBCU Minority Baseball Prospect All-Star, Jhoel Melone, and NCCAA All-Region pitcher Christian Tibabijo. “I am very excited for this season. We have young men who have been with the program for years and understand what it takes to compete and win at this level. We will play a competitive schedule this spring and we are ready to accept the challenges.”
Fall ball’s focus defensively was on making the routine plays to compete for a national title return trip to the Black College World Series this season. Coach Marshall believes mistake-free baseball will decide the outcome in a lot of games. The program is working very hard daily to be a top contender in the NCCAA this upcoming season.
It will be exciting.
