Fall Baseball Report: Kentucky State University

Dealing with the fallout from graduation after the 2024 season last year, there’s no greater challenge in college baseball right now than roster continuity, and the degree of difficulty ratchets up even higher when you have a big player change heading into fall ball. It’s become the default assumption having to start the roster-building process from scratch.

Kentucky State head baseball coach Rob Henry is ready to get after the 2025 season this spring. He has some good players in the program.

Kentucky State will turn to a wealth of new faces in 2025 after graduating 12 seniors in 2024.  Returning standouts include catchers Kendall Garland and Bakari Rush, infielders Parker White, Cedric Poellnitz and Preston Jones.  Junior Brad Dossett will split time between the infield and on the mound as one of the Thorobreds’ top relievers, while seniors Jalen Anderson, Yosvany Marquez and Cullen Odom join sophomore Natanael Ocasio as experienced members of the pitching staff.

The Thorobreds welcome transfers Somer Cedeno (RHP), Ryan Campbell (OF), Logan Christophel (OF), Kennon Kemp (OF), Harry Major (IF), Collin Nolden (IF) and Andrew Smith (RHP/C) to go with incoming freshmen Tucker Barnes (RHP), Ashton Renfro (IF/RHP), Tallen Seward (LHP) and Brady Wooldridge (OF/LHP).  Kentucky State opens the 2025 season at Shorter University on January 31st.
