Darien Brown is a freshmen pitcher from Decatur, Georgia who has Arthrogryposis, which is a disease dealing with the muscle and joints. A youngster born with joint contractures has joints that don’t move as much as normal and may even be stuck in one position. Often the muscles around the joints are thin, weak, stiff or missing… literally meaning the joints either curve, bend or hook. In some medical cases, all three.
Brown has fought through 21 corrective hip and leg surgeries. Here he is today playing NCAA Division II collegiate baseball as a pitcher only at Tuskegee University.
For the last 3 months ESPNU has been filming and interviewing the baseball program at Tuskegee covering the story of #28, Darien Brown (RHP).
The story will run this Saturday April 8, 2017 @ 11:00PM EST/10:00PM CST on ESPNU on SportsCenterU.
This is one of the best feel good stories of the year.
