Last week on July 22nd, the American Baseball Coaches Association presented eleven Historically Black College and Universities (six from NCAA Division I, two each from NCAA Div II and NAIA, as well as one from the Junior College ranks) with its Team Academic Excellence Award.
The award honors ABCA member programs that posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.
The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes.
This year’s honorees are:

- Coppin State University (ninth consecutive year)
- Jackson State University
- Norfolk State University
- University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
NCAA Division II
- Albany State University
- Kentucky State University

- Harris-Stowe State University

- Bishop State Community College
