Delaware State Trey Paige Selected On Third Day of MLB Draft 17th Round By The St. Louis Cardinals

Delaware State Trey Paige was selected in the 17th Round (No. 515 overall) by the St. Louis Cardinals on the third day (rounds 11-20) of the MLB draft on Tuesday.

Trey Paige recorded his second-straight season of more than 70-plus hits and double-digit home runs (13 in 2022, 14 in 2023) and became the eighth player in program history to join the 200-hit club. He finished the year with a team-high batting average of .372 at the plate with 15 doubles and two triples to go with his home runs, he tallied a slugging percentage of .691% and collecting 132 total bases. He scored 55 runs while driving in 53.

Paige was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division I Team. He became a member of the baseball program’s 200-hit club. During the 2023 season he collected 132 total bases.
