Head Coach Sherman Reed on the Fall Season:
“This was a very rewarding conclusion to a rather challenging fall season, given the restrictions and new protocols put in place because of COVID-19,” said head coach Sherman Reed. “Our University’s Coronavirus Task Force should be commended on the safeguards put in place to ensure the safety of our student athletes and the Coppin State Campus Community. We were one of just a few College Baseball Programs in the area who were able to participate in the fall non-championship segment. Our guys were determined to yield to the safeguard imposed by our University, and we were rewarded by completing a very successful fall season. On paper, I compared the 2020 recruiting class with the stellar class of 2015 that helped us reach prominence, and they didn’t let me down. I was really impressed with the development and consistent performance from many of the newcomers. The overall depth of the talent on this team made for some very interesting competitive battles this fall. Battles that will make us better in the long term.”
