Claflin Panthers Baseball Places 18 on 2021-22 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll

The academic success of the Claflin University student-athletes continues to show as 18 members of the 2022 Claflin baseball team were named to the 2021-22 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll, presented by Barnes & Noble College. The Honor Roll recognizes outstanding academic achievements of PBC student-athletes who compete in the league’s championship sports either as full member institutions or as associate members. As an associate member of the Peach Belt Conference in baseball, the Panthers had 18 student-athletes who earned spots on the team.

The Presidential Honor Roll recognizes Peach Belt Conference student-athletes who have compiled a 3.0 or higher grade-point average (GPA) for the academic year. The honor roll is divided into four groups: Presidential Scholars (3.0 – 3.24), Bronze Scholars (3.25 – 3.49), Silver Scholars (3.5 – 3.74), and Gold Scholars (3.75 – 4.0). The 18 Panthers were among 1,550 total student-athletes were recognized on this year’s list and it marks the 12th year in a row with 1,000 or more for the PBC.

The Panthers had student-athletes who earned spots in all four groups of the prestigious honorees. There were eight Panthers who earned spots among the Presidential Scholars, with three earning spots among the Bronze Scholars, five earning spots among the Silver Scholars, and one to earn a spot among the Gold Scholars.

The honor marks the second for Claflin sophomore Kobe Miller, who was also an all-conference selection earlier this spring.
