Head Coach Barret Rey and his Braves baseball team pick up a huge win today over Alabama A&M 6-5 at McGowan Stadium.

The Braves scored the first run this afternoon on an RBI single by Earl Burl III.

Alabama A&M came away with two runs ini the top of the 3rd to take a 2-1 lead.  Scottie Peavey scored Jordan Sears on a RBI single and later Burl stole home on to regain the lead for the Braves 3-2.

The Bulldogs scored three runs between the 4th and 5th innings to go ahead 5-3 but the Braves wouldn’t go away this time.

Sears led off the bottom of the 5th with a single.  Two batters later Collin Carroll hit a 2RBI double to left field to tie the game at 5-5.  Next, Cedric Bell stepped in and scored Carroll on a single which was the game winning run.

No runs were scored from there as the Braves snap a four-game losing streak and Cedric Walker improved to 3-0 on the season.  Jahborus Smith was credited with his first save of the season.

The Braves travel to Oklahoma State Tuesday for two games before returning home on Saturday against Alabama State.
