It’s a wrap in Montgomery, Alabama. After four exciting days, the 2021 Black College World Series Baseball Tournament champion has been crowned. The Bluefield State College Big Blues lost the first championship game to Xavier University of Louisiana 16-2, which forced a final winner-take-all title game. Bluefield State rallied to win, beating Xavier by the score of 7-2.
Now that it’s over, the All-Tournament Team has been revealed. Bluefield won the tournament title, but the team with the most All-Tournament players is Xavier. Gold Rush starting Pitcher Blair Frederick, Catcher Triston Rodriquez and First Baseman Dillon Cousin were all recognized for their performances in Montgomery. Bluefield State and Savannah State are the other squads with multiple players named to the All-Tournament Team. Bluefield State Tanner Brendon was the MVP of the tournament.
Black College Nines (BCN) and Black College Sports Network (BCSN) announced the Black College World Series all-tournament teams.
