POMPANO BEACH, FL – The Black College Championships organization has released the 2024 Black College World Series schedule with game times. The games will start on Wednesday, May 8th and run through May 11th with the national championship slated for Saturday May 11.
The announced full Black College World Series (BCWS) 2024 schedule is a double elimination format until the final, when the remaining two teams play a single game to decide a national champion.
The first game on Wednesday, May 8 is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Central Time. The second game is slated for the afternoon with a 12:30 p.m. start time and game three will get underway at 4:00 p.m. The evening game will begin at 7:30 p.m. All games will be played Central Standard Time.
The scheduling format for days two and three will be the same as day one with day three ending with bracket championships.
Eight Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) will compete for the fourth BCWS championship.
The top team from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II bracket in the tournament will face off against the top team from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) bracket to determine the champion and will conclude with the championship game Saturday, May 11.
The format will be two brackets (one bracket of four NCAA Division II teams/one bracket of four NAIA teams) with each playing a double-elimination format and winners of each bracket face off in a one-game winner take all championship game.
The Home Run Derby is also scheduled for championship Saturday. The home run hitting contest was part of the inaugural 2021 Black College World Series and returned during the 2023 championship series.
The Black College World Series returns to Montgomery, Alabama’s Riverwalk Stadium. The stadium is home to the Montgomery Biscuits, the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays which play in the Southern League.
