Former Bethune-Cookman reliever and infielder Brandon Wilkes has signed a professional contract with the Evansville Otters of the Independent Frontier League.
In his redshirt-senior season, he returned well from a prior injury. From nearby Holly Hill, the two-way player served as BCU’s closer and had five saves. He led the team with a 2.04 ERA, .202 opponents’ average, and 11.72 strikeouts per-game. He registered 46 strikeouts to 11 walks in 16 appearances and 35 innings.
Offensively, he carried a .298 average with seven doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 28 RBI. He was perfect in seven stolen base attempts.
