TUCSON, Ariz. – The Saguaros have signed RHP Josh Freeman of Stillman College. He joins outfielder Nick Vitale as the second player from Stillman to be added for the upcoming season. Freeman is currently serving as Stillman’s pitching coach.
In 2016, Freeman posted an ERA of 2.98, while striking out 66 and walking only 21 in 81.2 innings pitched. He was one of the leaders nationally in NCAA Division 2 in complete games, having completed seven games in 14 starts. He surrendered only one home run for the entire season.
“We are really pleased to have Josh join us in ’17,” said Saguaros Director of Baseball Operations, JD Droddy. “We are projecting him as a probable starter for us, but whether he starts or relieves, he is someone we are confident will add a great deal of value to our pitching staff.”
