The Albany State Golden Rams baseball team won a double header against the Tuskegee Golden Tigers on Saturday afternoon at the ASU West Campus. With the wins, the Golden Rams improved to (3-2) on the season and (2-0) in the SIAC while the Golden Tigers fell to (1-7) overall and (0-2) in the conference.
In game 1, the Golden Rams defeated the Golden Tigers (14-4).
Lavoisier Fisher had a huge game for the Golden Rams. Fisher hit (2) home runs and had (6) RBIs for the Golden Rams. Jonathan Logsdon, Luke Addison and Pierce Thomas each hit a double in the game.
Jeremiah Reddell earned the win for the Golden Rams. Reddell pitched 5 innings and gave up 2 earned runs while striking out 6 batters. Reddell is (2-0) on the season.
In game 2, the Golden Rams won a slugfest (16-10).
The Golden Rams ended the 3rd inning leading (12-1). But, the Golden Tigers responded by scoring 8 runs in the top of the 4th inning to close the gap to (12-9). The Golden Rams countered by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to increase their lead to (15-9). The Golden Tigers and Golden Rams would each add a run in the 5th and 6th inning, respectively.
The Golden Rams finished with 16 runs and 9 hits while the Golden Tigers finished with 10 runs and 12 hits.
Jaelyn Brooks had 3 hits and 5 RBIs for the Golden Rams. Chase Karn and Hill Corley each had 2 RBIs for the Golden Rams. Luke Addison and Jonathan Logsdon also had an RBI for the Golden Rams.
Brady Davis pitched 3.1 innings for the Golden Rams. Davis allowed 1 earned run on 8 hits. Davis is (1-0) on the season.
The Golden Rams and Golden Tigers will play game 3 at 12:00 noon on Sunday, February 19.
