Albany State Baseball Moves Up Into Latest NCBWA Top 10 South Region Poll With Miles College and Savannah State Also Receiving Votes

The Albany State baseball team moved up in the newest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top 10 South Region poll announced Wednesday as the Golden Rams check in tied at No. 9 this week.

ASU, who is 8-2 overall and 6-0 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play, went 4-0 last week, swept Lane College this past weekend in a three-game series. The baseball program is currently on a seven-game winning streak.

Albany State is getting good results from its core players. At the plate, Corley Hill is batting .485 with 11 runs batted in, Chase Kern is hitting .444 while driving in 11 runs, along with Lovoiser Fisher who is hitting .324 with six homers and 15 runs batted in.

On the hill, the key contributors are Jeremiah Reddell (3-0) with a 1.89 earned run average and 14 strikeouts, along with Landon Kiefer (2-1) who has a 2.12 ERA.

This marks the first time this season the Golden Rams have received votes in NCBWA NCAA DII Top 10 South Region poll.

Savannah State continues to receive votes. The Tigers are 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the SIAC after taking two of three games from Spring Hill College last weekend.

Mile College jumped into the fray of SIAC teams receiving vote. The Golden Bears are 8-6 overall with a conference mark of 5-1.
