Collegiate Baseball announced its Freshmen All-American team, powered by Diamond. The awards are given to the best NCAA Division I first year player for their performance on the field during the regular season. The honors are given out by the staff of Collegiate Baseball.
Alabama State University LHP Ricardo Rivera, named Freshman All-American according to NCAA baseball statistical information, posted a 6-3 record, with a 4.16 earned run average and struck out 41 batters in 59.1 innings pitched. Rivera started 10 games, had three relief appearances with one save. He was chosen along with 82 other players.
The list includes Collegiate Baseball’s National Co-Freshmen Players of The Year, Freshman Co-Pitchers of the Year, starting pitchers, relief pitchers/closers, catchers, first basemen, second basemen, third basemen, shortstops, outfielders, designated hitters and multiple position athletes.
