Alabama State and Bethune-Cookman Continue Receiving Votes in National Collegiate Baseball Writer Association NCAA DI Top 25 Poll

Both Alabama State University and Bethune-Cookman University Historically Black College and University (HBCU) baseball programs continue to receive votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) 2024 NCAA Division I Top 25 Poll released on February 19, 2024.

Alabama State’s (2-2) split it’s four-game set with Valparaiso to open its 2024 campaign. The Hornets were lead by Jack Hay, Randy Flores, and RHP Kyler McIntosh.

Bethune-Cookman (2-1) won two out of three games this past weekend. The Wildcats had a chance to sweep Stonehill College after loading the bases with no outs in the ninth-inning of the series finale, but a blown call by the officiating crew and a game ending double play prevented the sweep.

Both teams are ranked 1 and 2 in Black College Nines’ HBCU baseball “Large School” Top 10 preseason poll.
