NCAA DIvision I ballplayers are still “chomping at the bit” to get the 2016 college baseball season underway. But at many smaller division schools, including those among the ballplaying HBCUs, baseball is in full swing this weekend.
With the season underway, the question of what’s in store for the 2016 season, got a few answers the past week.
Concordia College (Selma) split a doubleheader against Clark Atlanta University… both games by one run.
LeMoyne-Owen College took a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning against Christian Brothers University, but CBU rallied to score four and win, 5-4.
Stillman College head coach Julius McDougal recorded his first career win with an upset of nationally ranked Mercyhurst University.
No. 10 Paine College (Black College Nines preseason poll) lived up to preseason hype by winning its first game against Coker College by the score of 5-4.
