The Tigers concluded their weekend SWAC series winning all three games against Alcorn State. TSU won the first game 5-1 and swept the doubleheader with scores of 10-5 and 20-9, securing the series.
Xavier University of Louisiana

The Gold Rush won two out of three games against Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) rival Huston-Tillotson over the weekend. Xavier secured victories in the first game with a score of 8-2 and lost the second game 18-9 during the opening series doubleheader Friday. The Gold Rush avoided a sweep by winning the final game 9-1 on Saturday.
Southern University

No. 7 Southern defeated No. 8 Grambling State by winning two out of three games in the SWAC conference series. The Jaguars lost the series opener with a close 12-10 walk-off victory on Friday’s game one doubleheader, then bounced back with a 15-14 win in 10 innings with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning, followed by another 16-12 victory in the finale doubleheader on Saturday.
Bethune Cookman University

Over the weekend, Andrey Martinez finished 8-13 at the plate with six runs scored, five home runs, and 13 RBIs. Eleven of those 13 RBIs came during Saturday’s doubleheader, with nine coming in the series finale as the Wildcats completed a three-game series sweep over Mississippi Valley State.

The FAMU Rattlers held onto its SWAC lead with a weekend sweep of Jackson State winning 7-3, 11-1 and 11-6.
Savannah State University

Savannah State, No. 2 team ranked in Black College Nines Top 10 Poll, swept a three-game series against SIAC conference rivals Tuskegee, with final scores of 11-1 and 13-7 in Saturday’s doubleheader, and 6-5 on Sunday at Tiger Field in Savannah, GA. SSU’s record improves to 21-9 overall and 18-6 in the conference.
