2025 HBCU Baseball Season Week Nine Weekend Recap

Virginia State University

The Trojans won two out of three games against Lincoln University (PA) over the weekend. VSU secured back-to-back close victories, winning the first game 4-3 and the second game 5-4. However, Lincoln avoided a sweep by winning the final game 18-8 on Sunday.

Savannah State University

The Tigers concluded their weekend SIAC rivalry series having won two out of three games against Miles. Savannah State won the first game 4-0 but then suffered a 14-11 defeat in the second game. They bounced back in the series finale with an impressive 13-2 victory, securing the series.

Bethune Cookman University

The No. 3 Bethune-Cookman defeated Southern by winning two out of three games in the SWAC conference series. BCU won the series opener with a thrilling 12-11 walk-off victory on Friday and then adecisive 18-1 win on Saturday. However, the Jaguars bounced back with a 14-4 finale win splitting the doubleheader.

North Carolina A&T State University 

The No. 9 Aggies baseball team won two out of three games against the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Wilmington, NC.  NCA&T started the series with a 5-3 victory on Friday and followed up with a 4-3 16-innings win on Saturday. They lost the series finale, 13-0, preventing a sweep in CAA play.

Jackson State University

The No. 2 ranked Tigers won two out of three games against No. 7 Grambling State. During the weekend, JSU lost the opening series game 8-1, then took game two 6-3 Saturday and secured the series with a 6-4 score Sunday.

Albany State University

The No. 3 ranked Golden Rams baseball team won two out of three games against SIAC rival Clark Atlanta. ASU started the series with 7-1 and 5-2 victories in Saturday’s doubleheader, but the Panthers came back to win the series finale, 6-4, preventing a sweep.
