The University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s baseball program will be led by head coach Danny Acosta in his second season at the helm.
UMES will be a young team this year with a good number of freshmen looking to step up and earn spots. They will rely heavily on Carter Champey, Hunter Allen, Billy Robertson, and Austin McCabe. Position player Eli Negron has a chance to earn some time.
Players to look out for include Jonah Stepner RHP, Diego Aponte 1B, and Julian Jimenez CF. Impact transfers include quite a few new faces with the following being the top impact transfers… Jonah Stepner RHP from junior college Southwestern College in California, Diego Aponte 1B from St. Petersburg Junior College in Florida, Julian Jimenez OF from Utah Valley State University, Ansel Carson SS from Saint Mary’s College in California, and Jonathan Gonzalez C from Onondaga Junior College in New York.
