The fall season went well for the Florida A&M baseball program. But FAMU will be rebuilding during the 2025 season after two consecutive, successful seasons; a 2023 SWAC Championship and a 2024 22-8 SWAC record.
The FAMU offense returns two of its top players according to head coach Jamey Shouppe and has added much-needed quality depth to the pitching staff.
Notable returners include SWAC Pitcher of the Year, Caleb Granger, and SWAC 2nd Team catcher, Brody Poppell. Additional returning players who should contribute include infielder Jalen Niles (3-year starter at SS), outfielder Ben Kim (.287 BA 4 HR), outfielder Jordan Brown (.294 BA 2 HR), starting pitcher Carson Kelly (8-3), relief pitchers, Tanner Walker (1-0, 1 save) and Cody Williams (2-1, 1 save).
New players who should make an impact include infielder Will Brown (medical redshirt in 2024), righthanded pitcher Trevor Hanselman (medical redshirt in 2024), lefthanded freshman pitcher Garrett Workman, freshman third baseman Jay Campbell, and outfielder/righthanded pitcher Justin Crews (junior college transfer).
Florida A&M could be destined for a return trip to the NCAA regionals.
