Pompano Beach, FL) For those HBCU teams other than in the NCAA Division I category, the baseball regular season is winding down. Some are gearing up for postseason play. Eight of those teams were recently announced for participation in the 2022 Black College World Series and now the tournament seeding are locked in place.
Albany State baseball finished its season with a 27-12 overall record placing them in the tournament as the No. 1 seed In the NCAA Division II bracket. Joining the DII bracket is Miles College which enters as the No. 2 seed with a 23-21 record.
Bluefield State, the No. 3 seed will have a shot to defend its 2021 Black College national title. Big Blues finished the season 21-24 winning eight of its last ten ball games. Kentucky State will be the No. 4 seed.
In the NAIA, Florida Memorial completed the regular season with a 23-21 record and earns the No. 1 seed in the NAIA bracket. Edward Waters University, with a 24-24 record, is slated as the No. 2 seed, followed by Rust College (16-13) as the No. 3 seed, and Talladega College, the No. 4 seed.
The eight teams will take to the diamond starting May 11, 2022. No. 1 Albany State will play No. 4 Kentucky State in the NCAA Division II bracket while No. 2 Miles College will face off against No. 3 Bluefield State. No. 1 Florida Memorial will face No. 4 Talladega College in the NAIA bracket and No. 2 Edward Waters University will compete against No. 3 Rust College.

*May 15, 2022: Games could get played on Sunday if inclement weather pushes the tournament back for a day.
The Tyson Foods Black College World Series games will be played at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, AL, home of the Montgomery Biscuits Major League Baseball Double-A affiliate the Tampa Bay Rays.
