Black College Nines has announced its fifty-two Historically Black College and University (HBCU) preseason elite baseball players for the upcoming 2022 season. First and second team selections were made for both the large School division (made up of NCAA Division I schools) and small school division (made up of those in the NCAA Divisions II as well as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
The awards are highlighted by our picks for preseason large school Position Player of the Year Chenar Brown (Jackson State University) and preseason large school Pitcher of the Year James DeLoatch (Norfolk State University), as well as preseason small school Position Player of the Year Andrew Stone (West Virginia State University) and preseason small school Pitcher of the Year Juwan Fitch (Xavier University of Louisiana).
Black college Nine’s selections were made based upon research and statistical information provided by coaching staffs and sports information directors.
