Scot Hemmings will be in his seventh season as Albany State University’s head baseball coach. He guided the Golden Rams to a 2018 regular season and SIAC tournament championship and also returned to the SIAC title game in 2019.
“We are extremely excited about the upcoming season. We cannot wait to get back on the field and compete for a conference title. We believe that we have made some great improvements on the offensive side and will be able to throw multiple looks at our opponents on the mound. This team has worked extremely hard this fall and we are all looking forward to seeing what they can do in 2022,” Hemmings said.
The Golden Rams will play 10 games in February. The Golden Rams will open the season on the road against Columbus State on February 8. Then, the Golden Rams will travel to play Shorter on February 11-12. The Golden Rams will play their first home games against Lemoyne-Owen on February 18-19. The Golden Rams will also play Miles at home on February 25-26.
The Golden Rams will play 14 games in March. The Golden Rams will travel to Lane to play 3 games on March 4-5. The Golden Rams will also play Kentucky State on the road on March 12-13. The Golden Rams will return home to play Flagler on March 16. The Golden Rams will also play Spring Hill in Albany on March 18-19. The final home game in March will be against Columbus State on March 23. Then, the Golden Rams will travel to play Tuskegee on March 26-27.
The Golden Rams will play 17 games in April. The Golden Rams will begin the month of April on the road against Clark on April 1-2. The Golden Rams will return home to host Morehouse on April 8-9. The Golden Rams will also host Georgia Southwestern on April 12. The Golden Rams will also host Benedict for 3 games on April 15-16. The final 7 games in April will be on the road as the Golden Rams will play Savannah State, Georgia Southwestern and Edward Waters, respectively.
The SIAC Tournament will be held on May 5-8.
