The 2018 HBCU baseball season opened up on Saturday with the Florida Memorial University Fighting Lions hosting Taylor University (of Indiana) in Miami Gardens, Florida. The visiting Trojans took the first game of the double header by the score of 5-0 on a combined one-hitter. In game two, Florida Memorial turned the table on Taylor University with its own combined one-hitter and a 2-0 victory.
Florida Memorial returns to action on Saturday, January 27th travelling to Davie, Florida to face Broward College in an afternoon doubleheader. Then, on Wednesday, January 31st, two more HBCU schools open their seasons when Concordia College (of Alabama) hosts a doubleheader with Talladega College in Salem, Alabama.
