Rust College Baseball Clinches Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Regular Season Title to Earn Tournament No. 1 Seed

Rust College baseball is set for an opportunity at a run at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship as the Bearcats qualify for a slot in the 2023 GCAC Championship Tournament in Jackson, Mississippi, this upcoming week.

Rust qualified for tournament play after beating out Dillard University for the conference top spot and has received the No. 1 seed in the tournament.

The Rust Bearcats have made some late runs in the regular season after starting the 2023 season off at 3-12 in their first 15 games. Since then, they have gone 18-9 with a possible return ticket to the 2023 Black College World Series scheduled for May 10-13, in Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, AL.

The winner of the GCAC tournament receives an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament. The Rust baseball team is ranked No. 2 in stolen bases with 200 steals, tied for No.8 in triples with 18, batted, ranked No. 31 with 363 runs scored and No.36 with 90 doubles in the NAIA. As a team, the Bearcats are hitting .318.
