New Orleans, La. (GCAConf.com) – The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced its winners of Pitcher and Player of the Week for games played from February 8 through February 14, 2015.
Pitcher of the Week
Tougaloo College senior Bennie Warner, Jr. (New Orleans, La.) earns Pitcher of the Week honors after his performance in two games for the Bulldogs. Warner pitched eight innings over two games against Belhaven and Rust College, striking out 12 batters and allowing just four hits and no earned runs.
Player of the Week
Warner’s teammate Melvin Dilworth, Jr. was named GCAC Player of the Week after batting .385 (5-13) for the Bulldogs during this past week. The freshman second baseman from Jackson, Ms., went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, three RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Tougaloo’s 9-3 win over Rust College.
