Selma And Bluefield State Ranked In USCAA Baseball Coaches Poll

Selma University and Bluefield State are ranked in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Spring Coaches Top 20 Poll Week 1 as announced by the national collegiate athletic governing body.

Both Selma and Bluefield State are also ranked in the USCAA 2019 Baseball Power Rankings which are based on a strength index of how a team has competed in their season against tough opponents and some high ranked teams within the NAIA and NCAA Division II.

The Selma Bulldogs are tied at No. 5 in the spring poll and finished last week with a 6-5 victory over NCAA Division I Alabama A&M. Selma’s record stands at 10-4.

The Big Blue of Bluefield State ranks No. 9 with a record of 12-13, which includes a five game winning streak. Pitching is keeping them in ball games as of late.

Selma is looking for it’s ninth playoff appearance and second in the USCAA while Bluefield State is shooting for a third straight USCAA World Series appearance.
