DI/MEAC/Baseball  FAMU Sports Information  TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida A&M Head Coach Jamey Shouppe announced on Tuesday that the Rattler baseball team had a strong fall semester in the classroom with 13 of the 25 scholarship players posting a GPA of 3.0 or better. Senior pitchers Cameron Sims and David Ogilvie each finished the fall semester with a 4.0 GPA.

“I couldn’t be more excited for how hard our guys have worked and how our coaching staff has pushed our team to be successful as student-athletes,” head coach Jamey Shouppe said. “Athletic Director Milton Overton has stressed championship success both as athletes and students, and this is proof that our young men have bought into what we’re trying to accomplish. Our guys have worked just as hard in the classroom as they have in trying to win another championship on the field.  Every opportunity our coaching staff has to be around our players is an opportunity we try to use to teach them to be successful, on the field, in the classroom and in life.  I am very proud of what our team has accomplished this fall and look forward to another exciting spring of Rattler Baseball!”

The Rattlers open the 2016 season on Friday, February 19 against Marshall for a three-game series at Moore-Kittles Field.
