Worthy Named To NCBWA Preseason Division II South Region Team

Albany, Ga. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has released its 2016 Division II Preseason South Region teams. Albany State infielder Terrence Worthy has been named to the squad’s first team.

Worthy, a 5-11, 180-lb junior from McDonough, Georgia, recorded a .421 batting average during the 2015 season while playing shortstop. He also had 51 hits, 34 runs, 25 RBIs and 21 stolen bases. He led the SIAC with his batting average and also ranked in the NCAA Top 10.

Last season, Worthy was also named to the 2015 SIAC Baseball All-Conference First Team and the NCBWA First Team. He also received All-American and regional honors from the ABCA/Rawlings organization.

Worthy was instrumental in the Golden Rams’ title run during the 2015 SIAC Baseball Tournament Championship and the team’s appearance in the 2015 NCAA Division II South Region Tournament.
