West Virginia State Head Baseball Coach Sean Loyd Named To NCAA Division II Baseball Committee.

WVSU Head Baseball Coach Sean Loyd has been named to the NCAA Division II baseball committee.

According to the NCAA “the purpose of the committee is to develop policies governing the administration and conduct of the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship”.

After serving as assistant coach for the highly successful Yellow Jacket baseball program for 20 years Loyd took over as head coach for the 2014-15 school year and immediately led WVSU to the Mountain East Conference title in 2015. This past season the Yellow Jackets captured the Southern Division title of the league and advanced to the championship game in the conference tournament before falling.

The Yellow Jackets participated in the 1999 and 2004 championships finishing third and fifth respectively.

Loyd has served two stints on the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee and as president of the West Virginia Baseball Coaches Association.

He will serve as the Atlantic Region representative to the National Committee until September of 2020.
