Shreveport, Louisiana – Baseball continued their run in the Red River Athletic Conference tournament on Friday evening, May 5, 2017, on the campus of LSU-Shreveport against the #1 seed LSU-Alexandria in game three of tournament play.

Bulldogs 4, Generals 3

JCC starter, Joseph Lyall (JR/Richmond, TX) (9-4-1) | LSUA starter, Blake Garrett (3-3-2)

It was another battle between starting pitchers on Friday night at Pilots Filed in Shreveport, Louisiana.  The Bulldogs would have chances early to score, but stranded runners in scoring position through the first two innings. LSUA would get on the board first in the 2nd on an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead.

In the third, Ryan Emerald (SR/Jamestown, CA) (2-for-4) would get things going with a lead off double to left field and would advance to third on a wild pitch. Emerald would go on to score on an RBI single by Santos Abreu (JR/Brooklyn, NY) (1-for-4), as JCC would tie the game up at 1-1.

After a 1,2,3 inning for the Generals, the Bulldogs would take the lead in the 4th, Christopher White (FR/Sacramento, CA) (3-for-4) would go on to score on a strike three passed ball. LSUA would battle back in the 6th to knot the game up at 2 apiece, taking the lead in the 8th with 2 outs.

Jarvis Christian would answer the call in the bottom half, tying the game up at 3-3 on a Christopher White RBI single up the middle to score Santos Abreu. Joseph Lyall would retire the Generals three up, three down in the 9th leading way to a Bulldog walk-off on a LSUA throwing error, as JCC would win 3-4.

UP NEXT

JCC (32-25) will face 3 seed LSU-Shreveport (35-18) on Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Shreveport, Louisiana, at Pilots Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm, following the morning game. The winner will move on to the RRAC Championship game on Sunday, May 7, 2017, while the loser will play in an elimination game at 2pm.
