Tuskegee Baseball Earns Series Win Over Morehouse College

For the third consecutive season, the Tuskegee University baseball team came away with a series win over Morehouse College. The Golden Tigers topped the Maroon Tigers 6-5 Sunday afternoon in a non-conference rubber match to improve to 2-6 overall.  MHC falls to 2-5 on the season.

Morehouse led 2-0 in the fourth inning until TU was able to storm back in the bottom half to the same inning by scoring five runs. It all started when Caleb Cobb singled to left field with a two RBI single that scored Dominic JohnsonMatthew Reed followed that up with a two RBI single of his own, scoring Emory Willis and Cobb.  Ronald McGhee continued the onslaught of runs with an RBI single to left field, which drove home Stallings to take a commanding 5-2 lead.

In the top of the sixth, the Maroon Tigers added a pair of runs to bring the score to within one run, 5-4. TU responded with a Keldric Burton single down the right field line, scoring Russell Coleman to increase its lead to 6-4. MHC added one more run in the ninth to round out the scoring on the day at 6-5.

D. Johnson paced the Golden Tigers at the plate with a perfect 4-for-4 appearance with a run scored. Hunter Hudson was credited with the victory for Skegee. He pitched 6.1 innings striking out four batters.

The Golden Tigers will travel to Augusta, Ga. to face Paine College next Saturday for a three-game set that starts at 12:00 p.m. ET
