Junior Colton Gunn (Pre Season All CIAA) got his first start of the season in game 1. Gunn showed no signs of rust as he struck out the side in the top of 1st. After a Nick Christopher single and Zach Jordan double, Gunn helped his case by driving in Christopher for a 1-0 lead. 1 run would be more than enough as Gunn cruised through 4 innings of work. Entering the bottom of 4th the Trojans added two big Insurance runs. Those two runs came curtesy of a 2 RBI triple off the left center wall by Christopher. Nate Anger took the mound in the top of the 5th and retired 9 of 11 batters he faced sealing Gunn’s victory.

Transfer lefty JayDee Johnson III took the mound in game 2. Johnson showed outstanding control of the zone as he struck out 5 of the first 8 batters he faced. With the game scoreless entering bottom of third, The Trojans took advantage of an error and 3 walks to plate 5 runs. The big blow of the inning was a 2 RBI double by Stephen Brown. Johnson would go on to throw 5 innings allowing only 2 hits while striking out 7. Daryl Williams entered the game in the top of 6th in relief of Johnson. The Trojans gave Williams more breathing room as they tacked on 4 more runs off back to back 2 RBI doubles by Bradley Taylor & Josh Markins. Williams closed the door in the 7th to wrap up the 9-0 shutout.

Zach Jordan finished off the sweep of the Tiger by throwing a complete game shutout in the night cap. Heading into the 5th inning, both teams were locked in a pitching duel. In the bottom of the 5th Stephen Brown reached on an error, and Tony Alafitta broke the ice scoring Brown. That one run would be followed by 3 more as Christopher drove in Alafitta, followed by Josh Markins with a 2 RBI double to take a 4-0 lead. The 4 run cushion was all Jordan needed as he struck out 5 of the last 7 batters he faced.

The 3 game sweep improved the Trojans record to 7-1. The Trojans will return to action for a home Double Header vs Lock Haven on Friday March 8, 2015.
