Three Edward Waters Tigers Selected As Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Wednesday afternoon the members that have been selected as 2017 Dakronics-NAIA Men’s Baseball Scholar-Athletes. Senior Catcher Alberto Rivera (SR/Orlando, Florida), senior Left Fielder Miguel Beltre (SR/Kissimmee, Florida), and Junior First Baseman Carlos Cabrera (JR/The Bronx, New York) represent Edward Waters as 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.

Rivera, Beltre and Cabrera are part of a group of 383 baseball student-athletes from around the country that comprise this year’s group of scholar-athletes. In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
