TLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its baseball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.

Caleb Nelson (Tuskegee) was named Player of the Week, while Greg Tye (Kentucky State) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Caleb Nelson, Tuskegee

Tuskegee’s Nelson hit the team’s first homerun of the season and he did so emphatically with a Grand Slam that drove in four runs, which also led to a 20-3 win over Paine College. At the played he was 2-of-4 with three runs scored and four RBI.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Greg Tye, Kentucky State
Pitcher  |  6’0 |  Junior  |  Knoxville, TN

Greg Tye became the third player in Kentucky State history to hurl a no-hitter, blanking Cedarville over seven innings. He faced the minimum 21 hitters over the seven innings, striking out seven with just two walks.
