ATLANTA, Ga. – For the second consecutive week, a Kentucky State University baseball player has been honored by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), the league announced.

Senior pitcher Brady Bibbs (Hornerville, Mo.) was named SIAC Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Voorhees College. Sophomore Dashawn Hureskin earned the pitching honor last week.

“I’m proud of Brady for how he bounced back from a disappointing start last week,” said Kentucky State University head coach Rob Henry. “He commanded multiple pitches and worked ahead of their hitters the whole game. He gave us exactly what we needed Saturday and I’m looking forward to more starts like that from him this season.”

Bibbs allowed just one hit in seven innings as the Thorobreds completed the doubleheader sweep with a shutout of Voorhees College on Saturday. Bibbs struck out three with four walks. He allowed just two runners to reach scoring position.

Kentucky State (5-2) opens it home slate 2 p.m. Friday, hosting Cedarville University.
