ATLANTA – Tuskegee swept this week’s Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) baseball honors with Trey Nelson being named the Pitcher of the Week and Ricky Green being selected as the Player of the Week, announced Monday by the league.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Trey Nelson, P, R/R, 6-0, 180, So. (Lithonia, Ga.)
Trey NelsonNelson pitched a complete game in a 9-6 victory over Stillman to open the series, his third consecutive conference victory. The sophomore allowed six runs, only four earned, over seven innings while scattering eight hits. He also walked one and struck out one batter.


 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ricky Green, INF/P, L/L, 6-3, 215, Jr. (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Ricky GreenGreen finished the three-game set with Stillman hitting .571 from the third spot in the lineup and recording an on-base percentage of .750 in three games. The junior first baseman went 4-for-7 at the plate with three walks. He also scored three runs, and recorded a pair of RBI. His best game at the plate came in the opening victory for Tuskegee in which he went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. He only recorded one plate appearance in game two as he was walked and was hit by a pitch, and went 1-for-2 in game three when he was walked twice, scored a run and knocked in an run for the Golden Tigers.
